Automobile Recall Lawyers
Representing Norfolk, Newport News, Roanoke & Nearby Areas of Virginia
In recent months, there have been more automobiles recalled than ever in the previous decade. Recalls have been issued by several auto-makers, but General Motors (GM) has recalled the most. In fact, GM has recalled more vehicles this year that they sold in the previous five years. These recalled vehicles have caused countless injuries and deaths and are resulting in hundreds, if not thousands, of defective product lawsuits.
Our Virginia product liability attorneys at Kalfus & Nachman PC have had decades of experience with these types of cases. We offer free case reviews to help you determine if your case will be able to be taken to trial and if we can get a reward or settlement for you.

Types of Recalls
There have been recalls from nearly every automobile manufacturer during the last year including nearly every part of the vehicle. As easy way to determine if you have an outstanding recall on your vehicle is to visit this website that is operated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Some of the major recalls that have been announced this year are the following:
- Volkswagen and Audi Diesel Emission Fraud: The US Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.) uncovered that VW and Audi sold cars with faked emission standards
- General Motors: Faulty ignition switch that has caused at least 31 deaths and multiple injuries (Deadline to file claim is 1/31/2015)
- General Motors: Multiple malfunctions that can cause fires, ignition switch malfunctions, ignition cylinder flaws, seatbelt issues, and failure of airbags to deploy properly
- Takata airbags: Takata airbag inflators which can cause airbags to rupture and send metal fragments into the car. The Takata airbag recall may end up affecting millions of vehicles across the country, especially as testing determines whether or not humidity really affects these airbags or not. Takata believes that humidity is the factor that can cause the airbags to explode, however, there have been deaths and injuries in non-humid states already. As further testing is done, the recall may extend to millions more vehicles in the near future.
- Toyota: Condenser unit housing, airbag technology, corroding spare tires, and unattended acceleration
- Honda: Airbag inflators, brake boosters, pistons, and a few others
How to File a Lawsuit for Your Recall
One of the hardest thing to determine when an automobile recall is issued is how to prove that an accident that occurred prior to the recall was caused by the defective product. Our Virginia product liability lawyers have experience with these types of cases. We understand what it takes to help you prove that your accident or injuries were caused by the defect that is now under recall. We can help demonstrate that you weren't at fault for the accident and that the negligence on the part of the automaker is what caused it.
If you believe you've been injured or had a car accident because of a defective or recalled product, please contact our Virginia personal injury attorneys at Kalfus & Nachman PC online.
