About
Elizabeth O’Conor is an attorney at Kalfus & Nachman PC with a fairly unique background as a former EMS who worked out of a fire station, as well as a nurse. From an early age, she always wanted to help people in need, which is why she was drawn to those roles. Due to her curious and problem-solving mind, she also set her sights on a legal career. Now that she represents injured clients, she can empower claims with her passion and her advanced knowledge of injuries and disabling conditions that she gained as a nurse and EMS. Her insight is particularly helpful for complex medical malpractice cases.
Elizabeth grew up in Potomac, Maryland, and went to school in DC. When she was only 16, she worked at a fire station as EMS, which inspired her to go to the Catholic University of America – School of Nursing, where she earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science. After graduation, she worked at Suburban Hospital in the Ortho Neuro Trauma Unit as a nurse until she went to Arlington, Virginia, to attend George Mason Law (Scalia School of Law), an idea that her father suggested while they watched an episode of Law & Order together. With her knack for learning and determination to succeed, she readily completed her J.D.
When working on a case, Attorney O’Conor is known for being able to better understand what an injured client is going through. Physical pain and mental trauma can be difficult to comprehend from an outside perspective, but her medical-related background lets her connect with her clients and passionately fight for the compensation and justice they deserve.
As a fairly new resident of the Norfolk-Newport News region of Virginia, Elizabeth is currently looking at how to volunteer with local fire stations. In her downtime, Elizabeth likes to embrace her self-proclaimed “nerd” side by reading sci-fi, playing video games, but is happy to be near a beach – because swimming is something she loves.
