Richard is a native of Virginia and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1977. He received his
law degree from the College of William and Mary - Marshall-Wythe School of
Law in 1983.
As an Associate with Kalfus & Nachman, Richard spends 100% of his practice
in litigation and is a member of the bar in Virginia and North Carolina. He
is a member of the Nursing Home Litigation Group, American Trial Lawyers Association,
and the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association. Richard enjoys squash, surfing,
